Joining the NWCT Team

January 15, 2018

It's been over a decade, but Eve Johnstone is back at Northwest Children's Theater only as a teacher this time rather than a student. Eve joined the NWCT Outreach program headed by Nicole Smith this January and will begin teaching as an Assistant Teaching Artist at both Ventura Elementary School and the Creative Science School for the following Winter Term. NWCT, founded in 1993, has led the pack in terms of children's theatre education in the city, and Eve can't wait to help bring theatre to the kids of Portland as a part of their team.

Fundraising Success!

December 12, 2017

Tonight the CGST Alumni Advisory Board hosted its second annual Winter Fundraiser Cabaret at DWFritz Automation Inc. The AAB ended up raising over $2,000 for the CGST Scholarship Fund. Eve Johnstone along with the rest of the AAB Leadership organized the event and performed her original poetry as well as the duet "Mungojerrie and Rumpleteazer" from the musical CATS with AAB Chair Hogan Fritz. All that's left now is to prepare for next year!

Hello Portland

September 09, 2017

The time has come to trade the city that never sleeps for the city of roses. After 5 years in NYC, Eve Johnstone has returned to her hometown to continue pursuing her career as an actor. Her first exposure to the Portland Theatre Scene will be a workshop with the Portland Experimental Theatre Ensemble (PETE) in Viewpoints and Suzuki.

Elected to the Board

September 01, 2017

Eve cannot express how excited she is to act as Deputy Chair on the Alumni Advisory Board for the Columbia Gorge School of Theatre. The leadership board of the AAB consists of Hogan Fritz as Chair, Julia Smith as Vice Chair, and Madison Grün, Gabriel Braet, and Eve as Deputy Chairs. Her first project with the AAB leadership board is to organize and conduct the 2nd Annual Winter Fundraiser Cabaret for the CGST Scholarship Fund.
